MOJO (ANR)

The MOJO project was funded by the Agence Nationale pour la Recherche (grant ANR-13-BS05-0003) from 2013-2017.  It is a collaboration between the Observatoire de la Cote d’Azur in Nice (PI A. Morbidelli) and the Laboratoire d’Astrophysique de Bordeaux (PI S. Raymond).

The goal of the project is to improve our understanding of gas giant planets. These planets are thought to first form large cores, which then accumulate gas from the protoplanetary disk.  We developed models for the growth and orbital migration of gaseous planets.  These pieces are being used to build models for the large-scale evolution of the Solar System and extra-solar planetary systems.
